I'm not sure who the manufacturer is, but I've heard it's from the UK. It's a deep plate made of hard earthenware (ironstone).
Japanese hard ceramics such as NIKKO are made thin, like porcelain tea bowls, so they are not very strong despite being hard, but in comparison, authentic British hard ceramics are quite thick and have fine crazing, giving the impression of being a completely different product.
The crazing is beautifully stained and there are small scratches and dents, but it does not have the delicate feel of hard Japanese pottery, so I hope you will use it without worrying.
