SASAI IRONSTONE dessert plate φ18cm

This elegant dessert plate has a decorative edge and is about 18cm in diameter, with a slight depth.

While Nikko Pottery is famous for its IRONSTONE design, this piece is from Sasai Seito. It was likely manufactured in the 1950s or 1960s. The surface has fine crazing, but the crazing is unstained and there are few scratches, suggesting it was rarely used or even unused. Please note that there are some kiln marks from the manufacturing process, such as small dots and areas where the glaze was not applied.

Although it is hard ceramic, it is not as durable as porcelain, but I think the light and fragile texture of the material is also attractive.

Points to note
Because it is water-absorbent, avoid soaking it in water for a long time, and make sure to dry it thoroughly after washing before storing it. Also, do not use it in a microwave oven.
