This is a handleless mug that Walker manufactured for the US Navy. It was made quite thick to ensure durability on a rolling ship. Furthermore, handles would break if they were hit, so they decided not to include them in the first place.
These types of mugs are known as "Navy Watch Mugs" or "Watchman's Mugs" because they were very useful for sailors to warm their hands while on watch on board, but because they were never produced for the general public, very few remain and they are rare.
By the way, Corning's milk glass mugs were the most commonly produced navy watch mugs, so they are quite well-known, but porcelain mugs were also supplied by various manufacturers other than Walker, including Shenango, Tepco, Sterling, Victor, and Jackson.
The stamp on the bottom indicates that this item was manufactured in 1951. There are some scratches and many small stains, which are reflected in the price, but there is no damage such as cracks or chips, and the inside is in good condition with little damage.
It can be used not only as a coffee mug, but also as a soup or dessert cup, or to hold vegetable sticks. It can be used in a variety of ways, depending on your imagination. We hope that military fans and those looking for a unique ceramic mug will consider this mug.
Size : Diameter 9.3-9.5cm, height approx. 9cm, weight 543g, capacity 360ml
Delivery
60 size
Notes <br data-mce-fragment="1">We have excluded items that are difficult to use or have major damage such as chips or cracks in the opening, but please be aware that these are old items that have actually been used and therefore are not brand new or perfect items without any defects.
