Founded in 1913, Carr China is a long-established manufacturer that provides a variety of ceramic products, including tableware, to hotels, restaurants, hospitals, etc., and also produced tableware for the military during World War II.
This mug has a relatively basic design, with a short, round shape and green lines.
The condition is fair, not enough to lose its luster, but there are some small scratches on the sides. There are also small kiln marks on the inside bottom and a small chip on the bottom. It's not in great condition, but since Carr went out of business in 1953, there are very few of these left, so considering that, I'd say it's in good condition. Of course, if you're used to old mugs, this mug will be fine for you.
The capacity is about 185ml when filled to the brim, which is small for a coffee mug. It is reasonably thick and seems sturdy, but it is not heavy enough to be called a heavyweight mug, so I think it would be easy for women to handle.
There is a number stamped on the bottom (47-50), which is likely the last two digits of the year of production. There is no difference in the design of the cup, but please choose the year you would like before placing your order.
