This is a Tepco mug without a handle. It has a shape similar to a Japanese teacup, but it is likely a mug delivered to the US Navy.
The reason it doesn't have a handle is because, like the Navy Watch Mug (Watchman's Mug), they didn't attach any parts that would break if they were hit. I imagine that the thick and heavy construction was to provide stability even on a rocking ship.
These shoes were probably manufactured around the 1950s, but are in fairly good condition with no damage that would impede their use. However, there is a crack on the inner sole that occurred during manufacturing, and there are small scratches and some stains on the side.
Its capacity is 330ml when filled to the brim, which is much larger than a typical heavy mug. It's perfect for coffee, soup, dessert, or even vegetable sticks. If you're a military enthusiast or looking for a unique ceramic mug, this mug is a must-have.
