Shenango US Navy Watchman's Mug

These handleless teacup-shaped cups were known as "Navy Watch Mug" or "Watchman's Mug" because they were very useful for keeping sailors' hands warm while on watch on board, and they were made in a variety of sizes, both large and small.

This is one of the smaller items, and I imagine it was used for a wide range of purposes, from coffee cups to desserts.

The manufacturer is Shenango, but the stamp on the bottom is quite old, dating from the 1920s to the 1940s. The color is a light off-white.

The condition is fair, with a slight scuff at the top and a stain on the side. Considering its age, I would say it is in good condition, but please understand. The inner sole is clean .
