This square piece of cloth, sewn into a cylindrical shape, was once worn as a skirt by women of the Li people living on Hainan Island in China.
The indigo-dyed cotton fabric has a woven pattern and is embroidered with vibrant silk thread, but it is not overly decorated and gives off a relaxed impression. The indigo has retained its deep color, but has faded slightly, giving it a slightly greenish hue that is very tasteful.
You can display it on the wall, use it to cover a cylindrical object, place it as a centerpiece on a large table, or even rip the stitching out and use it as a table runner.
