This mug was produced for the US Navy by Jackson, a long-time tableware manufacturer from the 1910s to the 1980s. These handleless mugs were called Navy watch mugs or watchman's mugs because watchmen on ships would warm their hands while on duty.

By the way, Corning's milk glass mugs were the most commonly produced Navy watch mugs, so they are quite well-known, but porcelain mugs were also supplied by various manufacturers other than Jackson, including Shenango, Tepco, Sterling, Victor, and Walker.

The stamp on the bottom indicates that this item was produced between the 1910s and 1930s, but Navy watch mugs from before the 1940s are extremely rare. There are some scratches and small stains, and a small chip on the bottom, but there is little scratching on the inside, and considering its age and rarity, it is in very good condition.

It can be used not only as a coffee mug, but also as a soup or dessert cup, or to hold vegetable sticks. It can be used in a variety of ways, depending on your imagination. We hope that military fans and those looking for a unique ceramic mug will consider this mug.
