From the late Kofun period to the Asuka period, around the 500s to 600s, earrings called jikan were made as burial goods in ancient tombs. A leather string was threaded onto these earrings to make a necklace.
The earrings are made by cutting a copper or bronze pipe, sealing both ends, and bending it to form a ring. The surface of this item has not been polished, so it is covered with a patina that is unique to earrings, but as silver can be seen in places, it is assumed to be silver-plated or made by wrapping a silver plate around it.
The leather strap is 3mm wide, camel brown, and 80cm long, reaching down to the solar plexus .
Size: Earrings: Approx. 2.85 x 2.6 cm
