From the late Kofun period to the Asuka period, around the 500s to 600s, earrings called jikan were made as burial goods in ancient tombs. A leather string was threaded onto these earrings to make a necklace.
Earrings are made by cutting a copper or bronze pipe, sealing both ends, and bending it to form a ring, but when this item was polished, a layer of silver was revealed, suggesting that a silver plate was wrapped around it. Earrings with a silver surface are also called silver rings.
The leather cord is 3mm wide, cocoa brown, and 66cm long, which is neither too long nor too short .
