From the late Kofun period to the Asuka period, around the 500s to 600s, earrings called jikan were made as burial goods in ancient tombs. A leather string was threaded onto these earrings to make a necklace.

The earrings are made by cutting a copper or bronze pipe, sealing both ends, and bending it to form a ring. As a result, there is a patina on the surface, but this product has been polished until it is smooth, so the patina will not come off.

The leather cord is dark brown, 5mm wide, and 58cm long .
