Corning, an American company known for its Pyrex products, has created milk glass mugs. These handleless mugs are known as Navy watch mugs or watchman's mugs because watchmen on ships would warm their hands while on duty.

The Watchman's Mugs delivered to the U.S. Navy were also made by other ceramic manufacturers such as Shenango and Tepco, but Corning's products were by far the most numerous.

This is a watchman's mug that appears to date back to the 1940s. It is made of milk glass, which is easier to mass-produce than ceramic, but the texture is surprisingly warm.

The color is milky white, not pure white. There are no scratches on the sides or inside bottom, and it is in good condition. There is a small chip on the bottom, but since the edge is not sharp, we suspect it was made during manufacturing.

The capacity is about 390ml when filled to the brim. It can be used as a coffee mug, as well as for soup and desserts, and you can even use it to hold vegetable sticks.
