Doctor's chair

This is an old Japanese medical chair. It has a thin seat, slender legs, and a delicate, beautiful form. The fabric that would have been covering the seat is gone, but the rust and peeling paint are exquisite, and it feels like it's been a while since I've come across something with such character.

Medical chairs are characterized by their curved legs, and it is likely that Japanese manufacturers started making them by imitating Western medical chairs. However, while Western chairs have legs that are perpendicular to the ground, Japanese chairs often have legs that splay outward.

The seat has only been wiped clean and has not been altered in any way, but the red rust on the legs has been polished off.

You can use it as a cafe table, to stack books, to display plants, or just to sit on. The height is adjustable, but due to its structure, it will wobble slightly if you raise it even slightly. Please note that the seat is slightly tilted.
