Awake and Moon Painted Blown Ink Plate

This Seto plate features a moon-shaped design, created by spraying mist-like ink over the wind-blown awns. The design is painted in gosu, conveying the crisp atmosphere of the night. It dates from the end of the Edo period to the early Meiji period. The double line around the edge is made of iron glaze.

There are some very fine stains in the cracks, but it does not look worn or stained. There are also some areas of peeling on the edges, but no other significant damage is visible.
