Stencils, Blown Ink, Lantern Plates

This andonzara (lantern tray) is thought to date from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. It is placed inside a lantern and used as a tray to catch oil that drips from the oil tray.

The design is of some kind of flower, created by spraying ink like a mist onto a stencil. Please note that there may be crazing, stains, chips, or sticking .
