Yamada Safe Store's safes

This Yamada Safe Store safe is thought to be from the mid-Showa period. The previous owner of this safe is Toyo Brewing Co., Ltd., as written on the plate above the door.

Although it is a storage unit for valuables that comes with a combination lock, it appears that it was ultimately used as a regular storage shelf, and a piece of wood has been inserted into the lock to secure it in place so that it cannot be locked.

It was originally painted a deep green, but due to some peeling and rust, the paint was completely removed. The steel surface has variations that would be impossible to imagine from the paint alone, so to allow you to enjoy the natural patterns and colors, we removed only the paint with a scrubbing brush and detergent, leaving only the rusted areas untouched. However, there are still some areas where the paint remains, such as the bottom and the back of the shelves. Please note that scratches, dents, and rust may remain.

The dial will unlock when you turn it two or more times to the left to set it to "30," then turn it once to the right to set it to "70," and then turn it again to the left to set it to "10." You can see how the dial works by removing the cover on the back of the door.

The color is darker than commercial stainless steel products, giving it a gunmetal-like appearance. It comes with two shelves and eight fasteners. The height can be adjusted to your liking. The depth is just enough to fit records.
