Wooden barrels used to make butter

This wooden bucket has a lid and a handle. I bought it because I heard it was used for making butter, but it doesn't have the stirring rod that you usually see on buckets like this, so it may not be related to butter making. However, the wood is nice and the shape is nice, so I think it would be good for storing small items or covering a flower pot.

There is some blackening and gaps between the wood, but there is no unpleasant odor or dirty feeling.
