Photo developing vat

This white porcelain tray was used for developing photographs. It is unusually small (about half an A4 sheet of paper). The smooth glaze and the distorted shape give it the feeling of being made by hand.

There are some small marks from the manufacturing process and some dark spots on the bottom, but the outside is in pretty good condition. The last photo shows postcards placed inside. I've also used it to organize pens and accessories, stationery, and water to float tea candles.
