Introducing an extremely rare Victor Watchman's Mug with a "V" stamped on the bottom inside a rectangle.
Founded in 1893, Victor originally grew as a manufacturer of insulators, insulating devices used in electrical wires. However, during World War II, the insulator business stagnated, and the company began exploring the possibility of manufacturing ceramics using the same raw materials as insulators.
In the early 1940s, the US Navy requested a coffee mug that could withstand use on board a ship, and Victor was ultimately awarded the contract.
The US Navy wanted a mug that was thick and durable, without handles that could break easily, and this mug, known as the Watchman's Mug, was created to meet their request. This is probably the first Victor mug ever made.
In terms of condition, there is some dullness in some areas (only visible when held up to the light) and some small scratches. As you can see in the photos, there are small stains here and there, but the surface still retains its luster.
Watchman's mugs can be broadly divided into two types: cylindrical and tapered, and this is the cylindrical type.
The mug is made very thick to enhance heat retention and durability. It weighs 562g. It's heavy and difficult to hold, and its thickness may make it difficult to drink from. To be honest, these specs aren't ideal for everyday use, but this mug was originally designed for use in the special environment of a ship.
It has been thoroughly cleaned, so it can be used without any problems by customers who are used to old tableware. This mug has a special background and specifications, so it is recommended for customers who like heavyweight mugs, as well as military items and old tableware.
Size : Outer diameter of opening: 9.4cm, height: 9cm, weight: 562g, capacity: 360ml
Delivery
60 size
Notes: <br>We have excluded items that are difficult to use or have major damage such as chips or cracks in the opening, but please be aware that these are old items that have actually been used and therefore are not new or perfect items without any defects.
