The Observer's Book of Wild Animals is one of a series of British pocketbooks that has been popular since the 1930s. Each small handbook contains one or several pages of information about a variety of wild animals, with black-and-white or color photographs interspersed throughout.

The cover has a faded photo that makes it look a little uninspiring, but the inside is a brown hardcover with a letterpress title. Because it's so photogenic, the Observer's Books series often appears in photos of overseas Instagrammers' belongings. Just placing it next to older items makes a beautiful picture, and of course, it's also recommended as a companion for walking around and studying English.
It appears that some of the pages were bound closed at the bottom, and although the previous owner trimmed them, some of the cuts are rough. There are also traces of pen and correction fluid, so the price is discounted, but there is no scribbling that covers the text.

By the way, after the Observer's Books series was acquired by Penguin Books in 1983, it became a slightly larger paperback.
