This traditional Tamba ware sake bottle is said to have been created to imitate the shape of a Japanese candle. It is believed to be the work of Toshihiko Shimizu of the Toshihiko Kiln in Tachikui, Tamba, Hyogo Prefecture.
There is a small linear area on the side where the glaze is missing, but there are very few scratches from use and the interior is in good condition. You can display it as is or use it as a vase for a single flower.
