Tan-Sad Fiber Chair

This office chair is from Tan-Sad, a furniture manufacturer formerly based in Birmingham, England. The back and seat are made of vulcanized fiber (a specially processed paper material), giving it a very simple yet chic and light impression.

Judging from the stamp on the underside of the seat, it was definitely manufactured in 1978. This is one of Tan-Sad's final products. There is some damage, such as some tears and tape marks on the seat, and some discoloration and rust on the legs, but if you use it carefully, such as sitting quietly, it will still be very useful.

The seat is slightly tilted backwards, so it fits comfortably on the buttocks. It's quite compact, so I think it fits the average Japanese body type. The seat height is adjustable; the first photo shows it at its lowest position, and the second photo shows it at its highest position.
