Swedish Military Bicycle

The bicycle was invented in the 1810s, but it had already been fully adopted by European armies in the 1880s. It was used in various countries until World War II, but after that, bicycle units disappeared with the spread of automobiles.

This is a model M/105A bicycle used by the Swedish military. It is made in Sweden, but the rear wheel hub is made by the German company Sachs. The exact year of manufacture is unknown, but it is a Swedish military bicycle. The regiment was disbanded in 1952, so it must be from before that.

The only brake is a coaster brake on the rear wheel (applied by pedaling backwards). It comes with a carrier, and a box containing a repair kit and an air pump is attached next to it. It comes with a dynamo light, but it is not working.

The bike is large, and the seat, as seen in the photo, reaches the belly button of a 170cm tall man. I couldn't figure out how to adjust the height. There is rust on the chain and repair kit box, and the tires are cracked, so they will need to be replaced if you want to ride it.
