This is a lantern (andon) that was used in a storehouse. It probably dates from the late Edo period to the Meiji period. It has a two-piece structure with a wire cover attached to the base.
The base is made of wood and has a hole in the center, which I imagine was originally used to hold a candle wick. Please note that there may be some rust, tarnish, and dirt that cannot be completely removed, as well as some iron filings.
Size: Wire part width approx. 12.5 x 12cm, height approx. 19.5cm
Overall height including hook: approx. 43cm
Wooden base 10.2 x 10.4 cm
