This is a Stoneware mug made in Japan in the 1960s and 1970s and shipped to the United States. At the time, ceramic mugs were also mass-produced and exported, but Stoneware tableware was thin yet durable, with no rough edges, and was far superior in quality to ceramic mugs.
This grayish off-white (or light gray) mug has a very fine grain pattern on closer inspection. It has a straight, vertical shape, a dark brown rim, and a cobalt blue line underneath. The square handle is small, about the size of a finger, and holds about 230ml when filled to the brim.
There are very few scratches on the surface and it is in very good condition with little sign of use.
Compared to thick diner mugs, this vintage mug has a larger capacity for its size, and is light and easy to handle, making it a great choice for female customers.
