This is a Seikosha electric watch that was found unused and still in its box. It is a watch powered by electricity rather than a mainspring, and Seikosha has been manufacturing and selling such electric watches since the 1930s (early Showa period).

At the time, there were no modern-day electrical outlets in every home, so electricity was supplied from a two-pronged socket invented by Konosuke Matsushita, which was plugged into the light bulb.

This clock has a very unusual design, with glass covering the entire front and sides, and is probably the oldest model among Seikosha's electric clocks. It is small, with a dial diameter of 15cm and a back diameter of about 18.4cm.

Although it is unused, there is some dust and dirt inside the crystal and some rust (stains?) around the dial. The outer box and packaging materials are also dusty and damaged.

Surprisingly, when I checked it by connecting it to a light, it worked. Unfortunately, however, the screw at the bottom of the watch for setting the time is stuck, so the hands cannot be moved.

Size : Dial diameter approx. 15cm, back diameter approx. 18.4cm, depth approx. 6.3cm, weight approx. 1147g
