This simple arm lamp has no unnecessary decorations. It was apparently used in a sewing factory in the 1950s or 1960s, and the base of the shade says "SANKEI MADE IN JAPAN."
It has a very simple, no-frills design, but it's also very practical, with easy-to-adjust length and angle. The base is fixed with screws and has three 6mm screw holes. It can be fixed to a desk or wall (it was fixed to the base with a C-clamp for the photo).
The shade appears to be plastic, but it is matte and does not look cheap, so perhaps it is Bakelite.
The on/off function is via a toggle switch at the base of the socket. The bulb is an E-17. There are some scratches and tarnish, but there is no significant rust or cord hardening, and the lamp is in very good condition.
