This is a salt storage container called a salt bottle from the early Showa period, when salt was a monopoly. It appears to be a salt bottle, but it has the word "white sake" embossed on it. Since alcohol was also rationed, perhaps it was used to store sake. I'm not sure.

Unfortunately, there is a chip in the mouth that is cracking from there. There are also small chips inside the mouth, which are reflected in the price.

The lid is just on top, so it's not suitable for storing food that needs to be airtight, but you can use it to store bagged snacks or seasonings, or as a small item holder. The glass has a soft texture that is unique to old times, so it would also be good as a vase.
