This is a typewriter from Remington Rand, an American office equipment manufacturer. Remington is also known for inventing the current Qwerty keyboard layout, and the first Qwerty keyboard layout was released in 1874.
The Remington 5 is a model manufactured in the 1940s, characterized by its rounded shape and metal construction. While there is some tarnish, paint chipping, and some rust, it remains in good working condition.
The ink ribbon has been replaced and there is no problem with the type, but I am not sure how to use the parts that are not explained in the image. Please note that the dirt on the case could not be removed any further and the clasp has become difficult to open due to rust, so please be careful.

Turn the knob next to the roller to advance the paper to the position where you want to type the first character.
Adjust the left and right margins with the left and right sliders on the back scale▼
Press the line feed lever to move the carriage to the right.
