Old Safari Hut

This is a safari hat made from woven rattan. It has the shape of a pith helmet (the kind often worn by explorers) made from rattan.

It appears to have originally been brown, but the color has faded considerably to a reddish-brown to beige. There are some cuts in the rattan, but the damage is not severe and there is no odor.

I don't know the age, but it's probably from Europe or the US. The head circumference is small at 55cm, but the shape is nice, so it would make a good display piece.
