The inner tube has red and green glass, and is probably a railway signal light. The tube can be rotated to face the clear glass window. The shape of the umbrella on top suggests it may have been made in England, but there is no manufacturer's markings. Judging from the shape and the degree of rust, I imagine it is quite old, dating back to before the 1930s.

The entire surface is rusted and the bottom is starting to rot, but it has only been cleaned of dirt and not polished. However, there are no cracks in the glass and it can be said to be in good condition. It seems that an oil lamp was originally placed inside, as there are some traces of a candle.

There is a partition-like thing about 7.8cm in diameter fixed to the inside bottom, so it would be best to have a lamp of the right size to fit it in. Alternatively, you could easily enjoy it with a tea candle.
