Pyrex Chemex CM-1 (1-3 cups)

This is an old Chemex (CM-1), the smallest size in the series, for 1-3 cups. The wooden frame and leather strap are no longer available, but this one still has the lid and the glass is in good condition.

Although the basic design of the Chemex has remained unchanged, the detailed specifications vary depending on the era. Those made before the 1980s, known as Old Chemex, were manufactured by Pyrex, and from the 1970s to the 1990s they were also manufactured in Germany.

The manufacturing method is also different. Old Chemex was hand-blown by artisans, so the glass has subtle distortions and wrinkles. The glass is also thick and heavy, giving it a more substantial feel than current mass-produced Chemex. The stamp on the bottom and the shape of the spout are also distinctive features of old Chemex.

This item has a faint stain on the inside bottom and some small scratches on the sides and bottom legs, but they are not noticeable and it can be said to be in good condition for an old Chemex.
