OPTIMUS NO1 SWEDEN Vintage Stove (Burner)

This Swedish-made Optimus stove (burner) can be used for boiling water and cooking. It uses kerosene as fuel. The trivet has an outer diameter of 21cm, so it can stably hold not only kettles but also moderately sized pots and pans.

Although it was not unusable to begin with, the heat output was weak, so we replaced the pump cup, replaced the gaskets on the top and bottom of the preheating plate, and cleaned the inside of the burner head tube and nipple. As a result, we were able to achieve a practical level of heat output. However, please be aware that a small amount of white smoke will come out from under the preheating plate during combustion.

There is some dullness on the surface of the main body and some rust on the trivet and tripod, but no damage that would interfere with use. It has been cleaned but not polished.

How to use it is as follows:

Add kerosene▼
Fill the preheating tray with fuel alcohol and ignite (preheat)

When the fuel alcohol is low, close the air screw and pump.
If a strong flame comes out of the head, it's OK. If the flame weakens, pump again.

If you pump the engine before the head is warm, fuel will spray out, causing flames and soot. In this case, blow out the flame, preheat the engine again, and then try pumping again.

The recommended preheating time is usually 3 to 4 minutes, but if the temperature is low, add more alcohol and preheat slowly.
