Half cocoa-colored, half brick-colored, it is probably a Bizen ohaguro jar from the Edo period. To be honest, this is outside my area of expertise, so I can't say for sure that it is Bizen ware, but the more I look at it, the more I feel its beauty seeping in.
There are small chips and black deposits on the bottom. There is also some slight blackening on the inside bottom, but it is not very strong, so I think it may have been used for something other than blackening teeth.
You can enjoy looking at it by turning it over depending on your mood that day, or you can use it as a pen holder or cutlery stand.
Size: Inner diameter of mouth: approx. 6.8cm, maximum diameter: approx. 11.9cm, height: approx. 12cm
