The "cat bottle" is a glass container used in candy stores. As the name suggests, it was named after the shape of a crouching cat.
It appears to be quite old, dating back to around the 1940s, and there are many bubbles and wrinkles in the glass. It is not clear, but has a rare pale pinkish color, which we believe is due to the presence of manganese oxide in the glass, which has gradually discolored due to exposure to ultraviolet light.
The condition is good, with some scuffs and small scratches on the bottom and where the lid fits, but no major damage. Please note that the aluminum lid may be deformed, discolored, or have small holes.
Because the lid is not airtight, it's not suitable for storing food, but it can be used to organize and store bagged snacks, pet food, cloths, and small items. It can also be used to display dried flowers, store illumination lights, or, if you add a desiccant, store seasonings. The opening is slanted, making it particularly convenient for storing on shelves.
