National Junior Cycle

Judging from its size, this is a National junior bicycle that is suitable for children under 12 years old. The sticker on the mudguard has the National "N mark" on it, so it is likely from the 1970s or 1980s.

It was originally red but the previous owner painted it black. There is no gearbox. The brakes are durable rod brakes.

The red rust has been polished off and cleaned as much as possible. The chain has been oiled. The rear tire pump cap is missing, but there appears to be no other missing or damaged parts.

There were cracks in the tires and some dirt and tarnish that couldn't be removed, but the lights still worked properly and the tires didn't lose air right away.

Some people may imagine it as a Showa-era junior sports bike with gears, but because the top tube is lowered, it doesn't have the unfashionable look of a junior sports bike, and instead has a design that resembles a shrunken old-fashioned newspaper delivery bike.

Adults up to about 170cm tall can ride it by either keeping their legs together or pedaling with their legs spread apart, so this is a great choice for anyone looking for a small, retro bike.
