MURAKAMI Top-Pan Balance

This is a top-pan balance manufactured by Murakami Scale Manufacturing Co., Ltd., believed to date from the 1940s to 1950s. It is made of Bakelite, which is rare in Japan, and although the pan no longer exists, there is a plate attached to the front.

The scale can be adjusted by opening the left and right lids. There are some small scratches and discoloration, but no other damage is visible. The material is such that it can be enjoyed just by displaying it.
