This McCoy mug is bulging at the bottom and shaped like an egg. Mug with a tapered mouth is rare, and just having it on display makes it look picturesque.
The color is a reddish brown, and it features a pattern called "Brown Drip Glaze" that occurs when the glaze drips onto the edge. The pottery is made of ceramic, and much of the manufacturing is done by hand, so there may be distortions in the shape, small pieces stuck together, or areas that are not glazed, but these traces of handwork are also part of McCoy's charm .
It is likely from the 1950s or 1960s, and although there are some minor scratches, there is no significant damage.
The mug is made quite thickly, so it is quite heavy and you may find it difficult to drink from until you get used to it, but its charm more than makes up for this.
