This glass beckoning cat appears to have been used as a candy jar. Originally, the eyes and mouth were painted red and black, but almost none remain. As a result, it has a somewhat monkey-like appearance.
While Hirota Glass has produced a reproduction of the Maneki-neko bottle, this is an old bottle from the mid-Showa period. There are impurities and wrinkles in the glass. Although it has been polished over time, please note that there is still some cloudiness on the inside of the glass. The aluminum lid appears to have been replaced later, and is in very good condition.
Since the lid is not airtight, it is not suitable for storing food directly in it, but it is sufficient for storing packaged snacks and seasonings. Of course, you can also display it as is.
