HAZEL ATLAS Milk Bottle

This American milk bottle was manufactured by the Hazel Atlas Glass Company. Its capacity is just under one liter. The "ONE QUART" inscription is embossed, while the "MACLINS GUERNSEY DAIRY ONTARIO" inscription is sandblasted. The sandblasted inscription is misaligned with the embossed circle, which may have been intentional or a mistake...

There are many small scratches throughout the glass, and the interior walls are cloudy. There are also small chips at the top and marks on the bottom where it was hit hard, but I hope you will enjoy these as part of the charm of old glass. The glass has a very pale pinkish color, so it may contain manganese oxide, which may have discolored when exposed to ultraviolet light.

It's difficult to pinpoint the exact age, but the design is definitely older than printed milk bottles, and considering the Hazel Atlas logo, we estimate it dates to the 1930s or 1940s.
