heat sink for heat dissipation

I couldn't find anything in an image search, but a colleague told me it was a heat sink. It's made of aluminum and is about 35cm wide, so I imagine it was attached to a fairly large device.

It's interesting as an object, but if you unscrew the base and lay the unit down, it becomes a well-designed pen tray and card stand. You could also use it to display accessories and small items.

Scratches and discoloration may remain. Also, the edges are slightly sharp, so please be careful.
