Kerr Glass Manufacturing Corporation, founded in 1903 as a company dealing in storage jars, is now a subsidiary of a larger company and is a somewhat obscure sister brand of Ball. However, the company's contributions to the mason jar industry, including the development of innovative lids, are significant.
The Self Sealing series was produced for a very long period of time, so there are many variations, but judging from the text on the front and the design on the bottom, we estimate that this bottle was produced in the 1950s or 1960s.
The included lid is similar to the current model, with a thin metal plate fastened with a ring, but this is a genuine Kerr product from the 1940s. This type of lid is prone to rust, so there are few examples left, making it extremely valuable.
The wide mouth size makes it easy to clean the inside and outside. There are small chips on the mouth and some scratches on the sides and bottom, but no noticeable cloudiness or other significant damage. The lid has some peeling plating and the inner rubber seal has hardened, but there is no significant rust.
There are many ways to enjoy it, such as storing small items or displaying dried flowers, and for those who are more experienced, it can also be used to store coffee beans or bagged sweets.
The glass is in good condition, so if you replace the lid with a clean one, you can safely use it to store food. If you replace the lid, please choose the wide mouth size.
Size : Diameter 9.7cm, Height 17.6cm
Delivery
80 size
Caution : Please be careful as the product cannot withstand sudden heating or cooling and may be damaged.
