Kerr Glass Manufacturing Corporation, founded in 1903 as a company dealing in storage jars, is now a subsidiary of a larger company and is a somewhat obscure sister brand of Ball. However, the company's contributions to the mason jar industry, including the development of innovative lids, are significant.
This Mason jar is part of a series that was produced over a fairly long period, from the 1920s to the 1950s, but judging from the embossed text on the bottom, it appears to have been made in the 1920s.
At this time, it had not been that long since Kerr began manufacturing its own products, so the level of technology was not very high and the glass showed characteristics such as distortions, wrinkles, and bubbles.
*Until 1909, Kerr did not have its own factory, and actual manufacturing was outsourced to Illinois Pacific and Hazel-Atlas.
There is a small horizontal scratch on the glass above the Kerr logo, and a thin chip on the rim, but there are no noticeable chips or heavy stains, and the condition is good considering its age. The included metal lid is made by Ball, and although there is some white rust, we have polished it as much as possible, so you can use it comfortably.
It can be used to store vases and small items, and for those who are familiar with it, it is also recommended for storing coffee beans, cereal, seasonings, and sweets. If you replace the lid with a clean one, you can use it to store a wider variety of foods. The opening is the same size as the current regular mouth.
Size : Base diameter 9.8cm, height 18cm
Delivery
80 size
Caution : Please be careful as the product cannot withstand sudden heating or cooling and may be damaged.
