Kawagoe Float

This is a miniature version of the gorgeous floats that are pulled at the Kawagoe Festival. Made of wood and measuring 13.4cm in height, the stacked boxes have a certain appeal to men.

A short wooden stick is missing from the end of the top, and it's possible that there may have been other parts included, but there's nothing missing and the damage isn't noticeable.

By the way, the Kawagoe Festival float event, which has been held since the Edo period, is registered as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan and an Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO as it conveys the culture of that time.
