This is a soapstone plate from Stone Studio Siku in Canada. It was originally a pen stand, but the pen socket had almost completely come off, so we removed it and cleaned off the tape residue. The pen socket will also be included.
I couldn't find the artist's name, but it probably dates to the 1980s or 1990s. The motif and the carved lines are very nice. The handwritten inscription on the bottom roughly reads "Feachers Farm Scarborough Canada May 25 '93," but I'm not sure about the first line or the year.
The color of the area where the pen socket was attached is different, but it will blend in with use. There are also some small scratches and chips, but the felt on the bottom remains in fairly good condition.
You can also re-glue the pen socket and use it as a pen stand. It would also be fun to use it as a place to store accessories.
