This stamped plate is thought to date from the Meiji to Taisho period. It has a jagged edge and is coated with iron glaze, and is also known as an "ige plate." The design depicts a crane about to take flight, with a large portion of the design remaining white.
This medium-sized plate is about 21cm in diameter and is a little large. It can be used for side dishes, pasta, curry, or even a single plate, and is surprisingly convenient for both Japanese and Western cuisine. It is also microwave safe.
There are some stains and unevenness that occurred during manufacturing, as well as some minor scratches from use, but the damage is not severe.
