The Swiss precision machinery manufacturer Paillard released its first typewriter in 1887. It continued to make improvements thereafter, becoming one of the oldest manufacturers in the industry, continuing to manufacture typewriters until the advent of word processors.

The Hermes 3000 was one of the most popular models. While production continued until the 1980s, this watch is from the early, rounded design, produced from 1958 to 1966. It comes in a distinctive mint color. While some plastic is used, the body is made of metal. While production shifted overseas in later years, it was still made in Switzerland during this period.

By the way, Truman Capote is said to have loved the Hermes 3000 and called it the "Rolls-Royce of typewriters." The title of the poster for the film "Capote," starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, was written in typewriter-style letters.

The condition is good, and although there was some surface dirt, it was thoroughly cleaned. Although it cannot be disassembled for maintenance, there is no visible internal damage. However, please be aware that there may be some lingering dirt and an old smell that cannot be removed.

The ink ribbon has been replaced with a new black and red two-color type. When the ink color lever is set to white, the text will be pressed without ink (but with enough force to be readable). When set to blue, the text will be printed in black. When set to gold and red, the ribbon will not feed properly and will bend, so please be careful not to use it.

The lever with the upward arrow on the left side of the cover changes the typing feel. Pushing it down makes it softer, so please give it a try.

Two cleaning brushes and a guarantee are included. A copy of the instruction manual is also included, so please refer to it for detailed instructions.
