Sasano Ittobori by Jingoro V "Chicken"

With the popularity of wooden carved bears from Hokkaido, traditional local toys are suddenly gaining attention, and one of these is the Sasano Ittobori "Otaka Poppo" from Yamagata Prefecture. However, I recently learned that there are other variations of Sasano Ittobori besides hawks: this "chicken."

Unlike Poppo the Hawk, it has round eyes, but not as sharp. And what's more, it has a distinctive, curly tail.

It's not too big, just under 20cm tall, so it's a good size to display. The artist is Jingoro V. There are some small scratches and stains, but no significant damage.
