It's a heavy brass lamp. There are small screws and a valve at the end of the pole, and when you remove them, you can see a small hole inside, so it must have originally been something like a gas burner. This lamp was remade by a French artist.
The base and support are brass, but the tip of the support appears to be copper. There is some tarnish and a little verdigris, but it is not in a completely rusty condition, and has a moderate aged impression.
The arm height and angle are adjustable. The bulb size is E-22. The cord has an ON/OFF switch. It's a simple lamp without a shade, but the small parts such as knobs and screws make it strangely attractive.
