The famous Thomas Edison invented the record in 1877. At the time, records were cylindrical, not disc-shaped like they are today. This is the paper case that cylinder records came in.
There are six types in total, and none of them have lids, but A to C still have a protective felt-like cloth inside. They date to the 1900s to 1910s.
Although there are stains, discoloration, and curled edges, there is no moldy smell and it is in good condition for a 100-year-old paper product. You can display it as is, or use it as a pencil holder.
